Entry Level Workshop

The entry-level workshop is designed for children aged between 10 and 16 years, utilizing MaKey MaKey and Scratch. The participants get introduced to physical principles and basics of electronic circuits (current, voltage, electron flow, conductors and non-conductors) via hands-on work with the MaKey MaKey kit. in collaboration with the workshop team, the kids elaborate three different Scratch programs (including a "banana-piano" and a classical "pong" game) and apply basic software development constructs like branches and loops. This guided part of the workshop is mediated in balanced theoretical and practical parts. After that, the participants work on their own ideas, using various real-world objects for interaction with MaKey MaKey and Scratch.

Entry Level Workshops took place in 2014 and 2016 at the "Töchtertag 2014", at the "Girls Day 2014", as well as at the "Töchtertag 2016"  at the UAS Technikum Wien.
